Toronto - Niagara Bike Train
Expanded Schedule in
2009 - Book your tickets now!
The Toronto-Niagara Bike Train is a new sustainable
tourism and transportation initiative that will introduce bike racks
onboard VIA Rail Canada service between Toronto and the Niagara Region.
Launched in June 2007,
running on a limited schedule until September 2007, the
Bike Train has surpassed its expectations.

has been selected as one of the ten Canadian websites to be featured on Transportation Day,
Geography Awareness Week (GAW) 2008.
A comment on how the website makes the

Queenston Lewiston Bridge Notice
to Cyclists
Please be advised that effective Monday October 27, 2008 due to
construction staging activity at the Queenston Plaza over the next seven
(7) weeks bicycle access across the Queenston/Lewiston Bridge is not
permitted.
Once
a safe and secure pathway through the construction zone has been
established and bicycle access across the Queenston/Lewiston Bridge can
recommence, the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission will advise by
email/website posting. |

Library of Scenic Bicycle Routes in Niagara
Select from over 200 Niagara scenic ‘loop rides’ for
recreational cyclists and tourists. This library presents opportunities
for all levels of cyclists to experience the beauty and diversity of
Niagara. Developed primarily by the
Niagara Freewheelers Bicycle Touring Club in association with the RNBC and
Healthy Living Niagara, these rides unlock the many secrets to Niagara’s
enormous wealth of quiet country lanes and trails. |

The
Ontario Bike Plan
presents a series of strategies for both recreational and utilitarian
cycling to encourage cycling participation in Ontario, specifically
focusing on the implementation of the Ontario
Bicycling
Route.

The
Bicycle Friendly Awards Program, sponsored by the Regional Niagara
Bicycling Committee and the Niagara Region Public Health Department was
established to encourage and recognize organizations which promote cycling
in the Niagara Region. The application form can also be used as a guide
for planning ways to make your environment more bicycle friendly.
