Cycle to Work and Win Prizes In recognition of International Car Free Day employees in Niagara are encouraged to cycle to work on September 22, 2006 and have the opportunity to win prizes.
Each year on Sept 22, International Car Free Day is celebrated by over 100 million people in about 1,500 cities around the world.
Niagara Region Public Health Department and the Regional Niagara Bicycling Committee are encouraging employees in Niagara to cycle to work on Sept. 22 to honour International Car Free Day. Everyone who participates in this campaign is eligible to enter into a draw for prizes generously donated by area businesses. Ballots are available in the attachment and below as well as at www.rnbc.info . Ballots should be forwarded before Oct. 10, 2006 to:

WHY: Recognizing International Car Free Day, by cycling to work, will encourage workers in Niagara to use an active mode of transportation such as cycling, and experience an easy and fun means of incorporating physical into their daily schedules. Active living is one of the key components of a healthy lifestyle that includes both physical and psychological benefits.
